Explore Nova Scotia was conceived back in 1996 as a personal project that has become
a labor of love over the years.
It combines three of my greatest passions:
website development, photography, and exploring Nova Scotia.

The original Explore Nova Scotia website involved only a few static web pages which displayed various photographs from
around the province. Over the years the site has evolved, expanded and taken on a life
of it's own. Many of the features you now see on the site were suggested by visitors
such as yourself.
The main focus of the website is to showcase the beauty of Nova Scotia through photographs that I have been
collecting over the years... and to catalog the trails and attractions that I have visited.
Each year I try to explore a little more of the province... by car, canoe, kayak or foot.
There is a lifetime of exploration opportunities here in Nova Scotia.
The Explore Nova Scotia team consists mainly of myself and my trusty sidekick
"Gypsy Lady", a genuine Nova Scotia Duck-tolling Retriever
(the official dog of Nova Scotia!).
We usually hike solo, but also enjoy the company of others on occasion.
