York Redoubt, Halifax From Halifax, through Armdale Rotary, follow Highway 253 south and look for signs. York Redoubt National Historic Site is a 200 year old fortification overlooking the entrance to Halifax Harbour. This site includes several nice walking trails, interpretive signs and underground tunnels.
