What we’re about

Hello and welcome potential new members!
We are a friendly and active group and would love to have you join us for outdoor adventures! Some of the types of events we organise are:
• Hiking
• Mountain Biking
• Camping
• Swimming
• Canoeing and kayaking
• Skiing
• Snowshoeing
• Geocaching
and more!
Please note though that our volunteer organisers are not certified leaders or guides. Some events even take us into areas where we have never been before. And either way, EACH PARTICIPANT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN SAFETY AT ALL TIMES. Refer to our Risk & Waiver Acknowledgement or see bottom of page.

In addition, although the Province effectively ended all restrictions on March 21, 2022, Halifax Outdoor Adventurers maintain certain COVID protocols ( see Covid Protocols )

You can read more on our general information pages.

Note that requests for membership in the group are reviewed to ensure you have answered the 5 questions required, that you have a profile picture of a person (hopefully you!), and that your user name includes at least your first name or nickname. Also, couples should apply as two separate people because our events often limit the number of participants, and there is no way to count a member as two people.
