Amherst Shore Park

Amherst Shore Park

Amherst Shore Park There are several routes to this park but I have found the following North Shore route to be the most scenic: From Halifax, follow Highway 102 to Truro. Take exit #13 or #14 into Truro and follow signs through Bible Hill to Upper Onslow. Exit onto Highway 311 north towards Nuttby/Tatamagouche. Follow Highway 311 through Tatamagouche as it joins Highway 6. Follow Highway 6 along North Shore through Pugwash, and exit right onto Highway 366. Follow Highway 366 towards Amherst Shore. Look for signs and exit left into Amherst Shore Provincial Park.

This is a very nice Provincial Park, offering camping and picnic facilities, as well as beach access along the warm waters of the North Shore. There are several trails throughout this park offering views of the abundant beaver dams. Look for beavers and owls.
